There are several ducks in the area. All winter there were two pairs that were hanging out together on a plank in the river. I thought perhaps I'd see them in the spring with little ducklings.

In the lower picture, see how the female's foot is askew? I thought there was something wrong with it, but after watching the ducks swim, I think they use their feet as rudders.
